Chinese company has been selected to construct Tunnel
Kathmandu, 19 January:
The Chinese company has been selected to construct the 26 km long tunnel which is one of the major structures of Melamchi Drinking Water Project.
The meeting of Melamchi Drinking Water Development Committee on 13-01-2009, has given permission of contract and agreement to Chinese Company (China Railway 15- Bureau Group and China CMII Engineering Corporation- United) which is selected from the four proposal submitted to the committee.
Official at the project made it sure that they will complete the work of digging tunnel within five years and according to the time period of the project if no obstruction comes during the construction period.
